About Image File Renamer

The Image File Renamer is a free online tool for renaming multiple image files at once. Whether you need to standardize filenames for a website, organize a photo archive, or prepare images for batch processing, this tool handles it all in your browser without any server upload.

Apply powerful batch rename rules — convert to uppercase or lowercase, replace spaces with underscores or hyphens, add a common prefix or suffix, and use find-and-replace for precise edits. You can also click any individual filename to edit it directly.

How to Use?

  • Upload one or more image files by clicking the upload area or dragging and dropping them in.
  • Your original filenames appear on the left. Apply batch rules or click any name on the right to edit it individually.
  • Combine multiple rename rules — rules are applied on top of each other in sequence.
  • Click "Copy All Filenames" to copy the new name list, or "Download Renamed Files" to download a ZIP archive with all files renamed.

Notes:

  • File extensions (e.g. .jpg, .png) are always preserved — rename rules only affect the base filename.
  • All processing is done locally in your browser. Your images are never sent to a server.
  • When downloading a single renamed file, it downloads directly. Multiple files are packaged into a ZIP archive.
  • The Find & Replace rule is case-sensitive and replaces all matching occurrences.
